SHORT TERM ACCOMODATION / RESPITE

What is Short Term Accommodation, including respite?

Short Term Accommodation, including respite, is funding for support and accommodation for a short time away from your usual home. It covers the cost of your care in another place for up to 14 days.

This gives you the opportunity to:

  • Try new things

  • Make new friends

  • Develop new skills

  • Maintain your current living situation by giving your informal supports a break

What does Short Term Accommodation, including respite include?

  • Personal care

  • Accommodation

  • Nutritious meals and snacks

  • Activities (we agree to)

The NDIS does not typically fund holidays, however, you may be able to use your core funding to enable your normal NDIS supports and services to assist you while on a holiday if they are directly related to your disability. We have access to hoists and ramps for those needing accessible equipment.
